A (colourful) challenge…

18 Market Square Northampton

The newly painted building in all its glory

It’s not every day we get to pore over paint charts in the office, indulging our artistic side, but that’s exactly what we did for one of our latest projects.

We’ve recently managed a programme of roof repairs and façade decoration for a Grade II listed building owned by a client in the centre of Northampton. The building’s façade was last decorated over ten years ago and it proved to be an interesting challenge to choose historically accurate colours which would bring the building back to life.

The building, 18 Market Square, is at the centre of a row of buildings on the south side of the Market Square and dates to the late 17th century. Markets have been held on the site, one of the largest marketplaces in England, since 1235.

The erection and removal of the scaffolding was done to a very tight timescale in order to minimise disturbance to the current tenant. The client is delighted by the end result and it’s now one of the most eye-catching buildings in the town centre.

Congratulations to the building team and Apex Scaffolding.
